We are returning to the face-to-face world, or rather, a mixed world, with face-to-face and remote.<\/p>\n

At least that was my experience on October 28, 2021 when speaking at a face-to-face and remote event (with live broadcast for those who signed up to participate remotely).<\/p>\n

The event was in Spain. Respecting the current COVID protocol, everyone had to wear a mask, measure temperature and rub alcohol gel on their hands at the entrance.<\/p>\n

The talks took place on a movie stage.<\/p>\n

I sat in the front row for the opening of the event.<\/p>\n

The sound person called me to put the microphone on: asked me to remove the mask, put the microphone (the one on the face), and reminded me to put the mask back on.<\/p>\n

The event’s host (Javier Garz\u00e1s<\/a>) opened the event and immediately called me: \u201cnow our first speaker, Paulo Caroli, who will talk about modern agility and the Minimum Viable Product<\/a>\u2026\u201d .<\/p>\n

I got up, thanked him and started talking. Here are some photos.<\/p>\n

The lecture ended, and the questions and answers began.<\/p>\n

At this point, the production team reduced the lights pointing at me a little and I could see the audience. All in masks.<\/p>\n

That’s when I remembered the words of the event’s host: \u201conly the speaker, while doing the talk can be unmasked\u201d.<\/p>\n

It’s amazing how something so uncomfortable becomes a habit.<\/p>\n

I did the entire talk wearing a mask!<\/p>\n

Unbelievable, but I got used to the mask. I watch converts and shows wearing a mask. I go to the gym wearing a mask. I spent almost two years where, if I was in person with someone (besides my family), I wore a mask.<\/p>\n

Unbelievable! What a time!<\/p>\n

I leave this post and these photos as a record of those long months wearing a mask.<\/p>\n

Let’s create a new normal together, much better than the past or the one we have today.<\/p>\n
