My daughter, the book coauthor,\u00a0has such an admiration for my work environment that she asked for doing the book launch party at the Thoughtworks office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4425\" src=\"https:\/\/caroli.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/alipus-capa-3D-menor-220x300.jpg\" alt=\"alipus-capa-3D - menor\" width=\"220\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/caroli.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/alipus-capa-3D-menor-220x300.jpg 220w, https:\/\/caroli.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/06\/alipus-capa-3D-menor.jpg 434w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><br \/>\nMy daughter (12 years old) and I wrote the book &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.misteriodocolegio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">O Mist\u00e9rio do col\u00e9gio Alipus<\/a> &#8212; during my sabbatical.<\/p>\n<p>I took the sabbatical over the Brazilian summer time (December &#8211; February), so I could spend <strong>the whole summer vacations with my kids<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During my sabbatical, I took care of my new born baby girl, I played with my 6 year old boy, and I\u00a0\u00a0 spent quality time with my teenage girl, Duda.<\/p>\n<p>Duda used to watch me writing late at night, and this caught her attention. This was in 2016 when I was working on the first release of my <a href=\"https:\/\/caroli.org\/en\/livro\/lean-inception-how-to-align-people-and-build-the-right-product\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lean Inception book<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parents do influence their kids<\/strong>. I had this confirmation when I got the news that she won a prize for best writing on her grade.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when I decided to spend even more time with her, and we came with the idea of writing a fiction book during my sabbatical.<\/p>\n<p>Things worked out nicely, and now our book has been published, and it is influencing young adults on the pleasure of reading and writing.<\/p>\n<p>So, what did I do on my sabbatical?<\/p>\n<p><strong>I spent quality time with my family, building up great memories and stories for a lifetime.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u00b4s been 10 years that I have been with Thoughtworks, then I took a nice sabbatical last summer.
