Oscar 2016: MVP finally wins Academy Award

And the Oscar goes to… MVP

Oscar 2016: MVP finally wins academy award for best entrepreneur supporting actor.

MVP, short for minimum viable product, has been the favorite for many StartUps, entrepreneurs, and new business.  And it finally got the deserved award!

MVP played small parts at the Toyota´s lean manufacture style [1] [2]. But it was never nominated for the Oscar on the last century.

MVP first appearance at the academy was in 2000, when the expression *minimum viable product* came up in a Willian Junk’s [3] article, “The Dynamic Balance Between Cost, Schedule, Features, and Quality in Software Development Projects, Computer Science”.

Later, in 2006, it was nominated again, when Steve Blank, an entrepreneur from Silicon Valley, created a methodology [4] based on client development. That was the beginning of the Lean Startup movement.

In 2011, MVP got another nomination with Eric Ries and his book [5] named after the Lean Startup movement.

And now, in 2016, MVP finally gets the best entrepreneur supporting actor Oscar. The “film” [6] was directed by Paulo Caroli, from Brazil, in a book in Portuguese: Direto ao ponto, criando produtos de forma enxuta.

Rumors say Paulo is already working on the translation to English and Spanish. And small MVP appearances (blog posts and articles) can be seen on his website: caroli.org
